Finding the Creator of the Universe Through Facts, Knowledge, Logic, and Reason

We are interested in learning about the Creator of the universe, of humankind, and establishing an ideology based on what can be known -- not what someone wants us to believe. We're driven to our conclusions by following these four fundamental guidelines:

• Fact: A thing that is known and proven to be true. A truth that is universally undisputed by knowledgeable people based on proof.

• Knowledge: Facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience and education. A deep understanding of a specific subject.

• Logic: An external framework of principles that uses knowledge and reason to determine if a conclusion is true or untrue according to strict principles of validity.

• Reason: The individual interpretation and power of the mind to think, understand, comprehend, and form judgments by a process of logic in orderly, rational ways.

It is these guidelines that provide us with what we know and what we believe, not Revelation -- the divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence.

The Fundamental Deist Ideology

Our whole belief system emerges from one extraordinarily simple principle -- the fundamental fact that nobody on Earth "knows" if there is a God. God's existence cannot be proven or disproven and therefore it is impossible for anyone to know God's mind, know what God wants of you, or know God's plan. Anything or anyone that says otherwise is telling you something not based on either fact or truth.

Many religions claim they know the truth and their doctrine based on facts. But facts cannot be manufactured simply from strong beliefs. Facts cannot be disputed, yet every religion is disputed by another. If one religion were based on fact, there would be no reason for any other religion to exist. Yet there are so many, wildly different, religions claiming they are the only one that knows the answer.

Core Principles

A Principle is a basic generalization that is accepted as true, honored by a group, and is used as a basis for reasoning or conduct. Here are our Core Principles. Hover over the links or click for more information on each one:

• The existence of God is unknowable, unprovable, as are God's will and purpose.

• A Creator exists; divine deity, a supreme force, or an accidental quantum or cosmic event, no one know exactly what.

• It created the four fundamental forces of nature: Gravity, Electromagnetism, Strong Nuclear Force, and Weak Nuclear Force which through intricate interplay orchestrated the evolution of the universe and everything in it.

• Given the chaotic nature of its creation and shear size of the universe, the Creator's knowledge of our existence is highly unlikely.

• The prospect of an afterlife is nearly nonexistent since death marks the cessation of one's physical consciousness.

• Given the sanctity of life, our pursuit should revolve around crafting optimal experiences for ourselves, our families, and humanity at large.

• Our principles are in a perpetual state of flux, perpetually adapting and refining themselves in light of newfound knowledge.

Pretend we could wipe the minds of humankind and destroy all the books on mathematics, physics, science, and religion. In some amount of time, the books on mathematics, physics, and science would be recreated just as they are today. Those on religion would be vastly different because they were not based on fact but stories made up over centuries. So, believe in God or don't -- Nobody knows one way or the other so, your choice but just remember, whatever you choose to believe is exactly that -- a belief and not a fact. That is true for us as well.
