What is a Fundamental Deist?

A Deist traditionally is a person who believes God created the universe and established rationally comprehensible moral and natural laws but does not intervene in human affairs through miracles or supernatural revelation. We believe there could be a supreme being, God, or maybe not -- it's essentially unknowable. However, there is a "Creator" but its nature and identity is also unknowable. The Creator does not intervene in human affairs in any way and has not established any moral or natural laws other than those physical laws that emerge from the interaction of the four fundamental forces of nature.

"Fundamental" refers to (1) that which was created by the Creator -- the Four Fundamental Forces of Nature: Gravity, Electromagnetism, Strong Nuclear Force, Weak Nuclear Force. With those forces alone, the universe and everything in it took form, including Dark Matter and Dark Energy which still baffle scientists today but may have a major impact on evolution through the cosmos and time. "Fundamental" (2) also refers to our fundamental guiding tenets -- Knowledge, Facts, Logic, and Reason. These guide our beliefs and separate what is a belief and what is truth.

We don't hold meetings, we don't need brick and mortar, nor someone to tell us how God or anyone else wants us to live. This website and forum is enough to share our ideas and develop new ones. We'll never pass the plate but would be happy to accept a donation if what you've read here has helped in any way. No, a donation won't save your soul or guarantee a trip to the happy place when you die, but it will help to keep the servers running.

If you are content with your particular beliefs, we are sincerely happy that you found something special and would never try to say you're wrong or convince you otherwise. This website is simply not meant for you. Rather, this site is for those who aren't quite comfortable with any other religion and are looking for another ideology that better suits their beliefs.

To provide a modern spiritual ideology based in knowledge, facts, logic, and reason so people can come to accept that there are things about God and the afterlife that are simply unknowable and to find comfort in that. To give people the power to know that you do not have to believe "facts" that contradict science, suspend reality, or listen to someone tell you they know how God wants you to live.
